The Western Independence Flag - By: Mr. Dexter Dombro

The Western Independence Flag was originally designed by Dexter Dombro and it won the "flag competition" held at the founding convention of the Western Independence Association of Canada. The association subsequently adopted the flag as their dominant symbol of a free West Canada.

The flag represents the land and people of western and northern Canada. It's colors - red, white and blue are the colors of the revolutionary democracies from which we originate. A white bar separates the red base from the blue upper half and on the right represents the prairies and northern tundra. On the left, the mountains of B.C. and the Yukon. In the sky, the Little Dipper is seen with the North Star which signifies the new nation.
