The Science Behind The Kyoto Protocol Proves That Habitual Dope Smokers Can Hold Good Jobs

    I have read the report entitled "Climate Change Science" and I must admit that I am now deeply concerned. Not about global warming but rather, with what appears to be a systemic drug problem among our scientific community. You can read the report for yourselves and I highly recommend that you do. It's only 28 pages long and there are some truly interesting bits. But as long as you are here, let me boil it down for you.

    As you have doubtless heard, the earth is warming. Over the past century, the atmospheric temperature has increased by 0.8 degrees Celsius. The oceans meanwhile have warmed by 0.05 degrees. Carbon dioxide and other gases, the so-called "greenhouse" gases, are causing the warming to accelerate. When you hear someone say that "scientists are unanimous in their agreement about global warming, the preceding paragraph is approximately all that they are truly in agreement about.

    The earth has warmed and cooled a multitude of times throughout history. In fact, the earth became so warm in the period from 800 a.d. through 1200 a.d. that the Vikings were able to cultivate Iceland and Greenland. This period is known to climatologists as The Medieval Warm Period. By the 1300's and 1400's a major cooling trend was underway which shortened growing seasons in Europe so dramatically that life-span was diminished by ten years. This cool period lasted until just into the past century. James K. Glassman and Sallie L. Baliunas, in the American Enterprise Institute article - Bush was right on global warming state quite succinctly "Such major climate swings occurred long before the industrial age. More important, the earth’s cycles of warming and cooling predate human existence—not to mention sport-utility vehicles."

    Environmentalists or "calamitologists" as the aforementioned authors call them, such as greenpeace and David Suzuki are aware of this fact. What they are hiding from the public is a shit-load of really bad science and of course, an inbred Marxist disposition which insists that capitalists and their vile industries are despoiling nature, trampling the greenery, fouling the streams and turning the planet into a giant Nazi gas chamber. 

    To keep the capitalists from forever ruining the planet and to give the Marxists a degree of control over the world's major industries that Hitler could only dream of, an agreement was devised in Kyoto, Japan in December, 1997. Then President Clinton's Department of Energy estimated the cost of implementing the protocol at $300 - $500 billion annually. Not surprisingly, the US Senate voted unanimously not to approve the treaty. Vice-president AL Gore, signed it anyway, obviously before he became so enthralled with the primacy of the democratic process. President George W. shit-canned the plan and rightly so.

    Before he did so however, Bush asked The National Academy of Sciences to determine what is known and what is not about this issue of climate change and the effect of greenhouse gases. The National Academy reported to the President that what is known is that the earth has a natural warming and cooling disposition. That all the computer modeling is very poor at predicting accurately, future warming patterns. In fact, when known weather data from earlier in the 20th century was used as a base-line, the model's predictions for what the temperatures should be now were completely wrong.

    As Glassman and Baliunas point out in their essay - "Without computer models, there would be no evidence of global warming, no predictions of disaster, no Kyoto. So far, remember, the earth has increased its temperature by just one degree in a century."

    There may in fact, be a terribly simple explanation for the earth's most recent warming trend. One that even the children of liberal politicians can understand. It's the sun stupid! The amount of energy from the sun which reaches the earth varies with changes in solar magnetism or total energy output. NASA satellites have uncovered the fact that the sun’s changing magnetism over the course of its sunspot cycle is accompanied by a change in total energy output. The sun is as magnetically active today as it has ever been over the past 400 year period.

    Imagine, the sun heating the earth. Who'd a thunk it? Obviously, not Der Fuhrer Cretin. He and his bunch of contemporary Nazi's seem intent on doing more damage than the last group. Hopefully, they'll soon meet the same fate.
