The Liberal Titanic
By Wes Freeland
With all of the arrogance that
is Jean Cretien, the Kyoto Accord will get ratified today, even though there
is still no real plan or disclosure of what we as a country are signing up
for. If the government of Canada can botch the gun registry, where you can
actually count the guns, how do you think they are going to do when if comes
to something as inanimate as air? Cost overruns will be at least 400 times the
estimates that we still don't have yet. In my opinion, Cretien's Legacy will
be the following:
1 - Failure to
eliminate the GST after promising to do so;
2 - HRDC
Scandal (only another $billion there);
3 - Armed
forces that are becoming the butt of international jokes (training aside). The
submarine purchase from Britain ( West Edmonton Mall still has a stronger
fleet, because those subs actually work);
4 - The Gun
Registry, another billion dollar whoopsy, with no resulting impact on anything
but the law abiding owner;
5 - The good
old Kyoto Accord and the absolute enslavement of the Canadian taxpayer to
support this pipe dream.
The time is ripe for the West
to get out, and the sooner the better. The socialist Titanic which struck the
iceberg back in the early 1990's is now pointing straight down, and we have
but one life raft left, and that life raft has "freedom" painted on
the side.
